Pretty Muddy Race
by Samelia- 4 replies
- 8.3k views
Hi everyone I have decided to participate in a 5k muddy obstacle course and also persuaded my whole dancing team to join me. The entry fee of the race goes to cancer research uk. In addition to this I have also set up a just giving page for sponsors- this money will go directly to Pancreatic Cancer UK. I know this will be an important cause to all on here so if you could please donate. Every £ aids the research to beat this evil disease indefinitely! Thank you so much Here is the link to my page. https://www.justgiving.com/sarah-melia/

Travelling abroad between treatments
by SusannaUK- 5 replies

I opened this thread to get some information from you about travelling. I have read that most of the patients travelled between treatments and would like to know what are the important things we have to be aware of. We would like to go to Hungary for approx. 12-14 days between two treatments. If my husband's pain will be sorted I will book the tickets. He takes so many medicines, morphine (liquid too, they are in 120 ml bottles)) etc. I don't know how it works at custom. Have you received an authorization from your oncologist that this patient has cancer and needs to take this and that medicines? Shall we put the medicines in our hand luggage or in checked-in bag? Wh…

Information and advice please

Hi. My name is Pete, I am 63 years of age. Please excuse me if I "ramble on" as I've never used a Forum before. A brief history surrounding my problem.....In March this year I felt unwell and started to turn yellow. I was admitted to hospital and had an urgent MRI scan which revealed a 1cm tumour in my bile duct. They also told me at that time that the cancer had spread to my liver and that nothing could be done for me, so I went home and started to make the "necessary arrangements". However, at a further meeting with a consultant at xx I was advised that I could have a Whipple procedure, and that it was unlikely that the cancer had spread to my liver. I had my Whipple on…

Curing Cancer Ch4

just catching up with this programme that I recorded. Its fascinating and upsetting at the same time. Dennis who was terminal got an unlicensed drug, what a result in 2-9 weeks. Unfortunately it came back after that but its good to know that progress seems to be being made. How those health professionals work in that environment is beyond me but bless them all. Julia x

Hello everybody. My dear Dad has been diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. The tumour is apparently 4 cm in diameter and surrounding a blood vessel. He should be starting chemo soon. I was wondering whether anybody has any experience of Nanoknife. I have done some research into it but it would be nice to hear views on it. Thank you.

Stand up to Cancer (Channel 4)
by Slewis7313- 2 replies
- 6.6k views
I have been made aware of a series of events on Channel 4 culminating in a fund raiser tomorrow (Friday 17th). I have looked at a few programmes on catchup which have some really interesting discussions on research, treatment and life stories. Not Pancreatic Cancer specific, but 'Pauline's Story' is about a lady with Pancreatic Cancer. Well worth a look. Look out for SU2C on the programme guides. Steve PS....100% of all donations go to Cancer Research UK.

Is our definition of cancer correct?
by Didge- 1 reply

Ric I do not have enough time to even read all your post as I am rushing for work but 'poking the immune system with a stick' has been long held as one of the paths to stimulating the repelling of cancer. Dr Issel's clinic (known from my youth as failing to save Lillian Board) used this method as do many today. I have long been interested in lifestyle changes and tried Gerson's therapy for my late husband 25 years ago. They have always maintained that they have better results with people whose diets were very poor than those whose diets were already very good. The assumption is that those with poor diets may have cancers which have been triggered or even caused by poor…

My 39 year old sister Dominique died today, quietly and without fuss, exactly as she had lived the last 5 months since diagnosis of inoperable PC. She tried Folfirinox but only managed two rounds as the vivacity of this combination was just too much for her already depleted body. Dom never complained and took on each new stage of this dreadful illness with dignity. I am so sad that she never really had a fighting chance to be close to the 3% who somehow beat it. She will be missed by us all. Our loved ones deserve more than the look of defeat that passes through the eyes of those who recognise the implications when hearing that the cancer is pancreatic. The statisti…

My family and I have decided that we are going to do the Great Wall Trek for Hope this year in October, in order to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. We have decided to after my dad was diagnosed in December 2013 and sadly passed away on the 17th February 2014, at the age of just 54. My mum has been posting on the forum since my nan was diagnosed in January 2012 and passed away August 2012 and then again when my dad was diagnosed: http://forum.pancreaticcancer.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1269 We are determined to raise as much money between us as we can, and will be doing all sorts of different fundraising activities to get to our target. Please sponsor u…
