Apologies for such a late response. Like both of you I've had periods where Creon 25000 were unavailable (it's happening again now) and I've been reduced to necking dozens of the 10000 every day. When this happened last year, a dietician at my hospital wrote to my GP and asked them to prescribe Nutrizym 22000 as an alternative. Apparently it contains the same enzymes as Creon. The GP did this and it was a really helpful stop-gap until the Creon 25000 became available again. I noticed that my GP surgery knocked it off my repeat prescription list at this point - it made me wonder whether it was more expensive than Creon. Anyway I'll be asking for this again whilst Creon 25000 is currently in short supply. Hope this help. -

So very sorry to hear of your loss Pbasi. Guilt must surely be a very common feeling. I feel I didn't comfort & communicate with my relative quite in the way I should have when he was dying. But I didn't know how quickly it would happen, didn't know if I'd be up all night ... two nights, maybe three ... in my mind I was pacing myself and probably truth is I was like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Do those who are at the end of their life really worry about thes 'little things though?' To know you're loved is a massive thing, surely. Maybe the details are not as important to them as we might think. Does rather sound like your Mum must have known that you loved, admired & respected her. -

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in October 2023. We were utterly shocked and devastated. Tried everything, but we knew what’s going to happen. We lost her few days ago and I am unable to accept the truth that I m never going to see her again. I just can’t believe this. She was a yoga instructor, healthiest person you could think of. Except two years ago she started loosing weight and her blood sugars were high. She started meds for diabetes but never had an abdominal ultrasound. I am in a hell of guilt, regrets of not doing enough for her, I wish it was caught little bit earlier, it might have given her few more months/years. She was only 54. I miss her so much. She used to call me every day to talk but that phone doesn’t ring with her name anymore. I just don’t know how to accept the truth that she is not here anymore. I just can’t. During her regular chemo appointment she got high fever followed by a lung infection, it got worse quickly and she was put on ventilator. She had a cardiac arrest while on ventilator. This is not how it was supposed to work, but we couldn’t do anything. I am not ready to be a grown up without my mom. -

It's a pain isn't it. I use an online pharmacy, and last year they were taking a couple of weeks to come through. In January I got the creon tablets by return, and I assumed things had resolved themselves. Yet I'm still waiting for the February order, so clearly not. Fortunately our local chemist had some 10,000 ones in stock to see me through When they can't access an item, you can request a barcode that let's you fill the prescription at any pharmacy. What I found useful is that Boots have a facility to check stock levels at all their local pharmacies, and I managed to get two bottles of 25,000s through that. Be warned though that one I tried was supposed to have stock, but didn't, so phone first. The website gives you the phone numbers https://www.boots.com/online/psc/ -

I agree. Having an area where there is anonymity with people who have had similar experiences helps. I think. I know I’ll try and sleep tonight after having a good scroll around to see if anyone else out there feels the same way in some way. Hope you’re doing ok out there. I’ve had a pretty rotten day and need to spend some time repairing the eye bags I can’t seem to shake off. A small but daily reminder of the loss I’m feeling. -

Hi broju, thankyou for replying. Please can I ask you a bit more. Did the symptoms come on while your husband was still at the hospital where he had the EUS? Or had you gone home? Do you remember how long it took to settle completely? Did the result of the FNA change the management of his disease? Did he ever have another episode and if so was that after an FNA or just out of the blue? And did that settle also? I hope asking you these questions isn’t too distressing for you. If so I apologise, I’m sorry. Ruth
