Theresa Upton
Hi, can you tell me how long folfirinox has been used to treat pancreatic cancer and are there any recent data in terms of survival rates using this particular type of chemotherapy.ThanksTheresa
PCUK Nurse Rachel R
Hi there,Folfirinox was first introduced to the UK around 2012, initially this was only given to very fit and younger patients (initially 50 yrs and under). This was well tolerated and had some impressive results in some patients and over the last years older patients have had access to this too. Here are a couple of articles that you may be interested in reading looking at effectiveness of treating pancreatic cancer with Folfirinox versus other regimes.http://bit.ly/2TOYelRhttp://bit.ly/2TL8Wd0Do feel free to give us a call if you would like to discuss further.Best wishes,RachelRachel RichardsonPancreatic Cancer Specialist NurseSupport TeamPancreatic Cancer UKemail: nurse@pancreaticcancer.org.uksupport line: 0808 801 0707
