Patient View

Hi lovely nurses at Pancreaticcancer.org,

Have any of you heard of an APP called PatientView? I am on a ward with a transplant patient and she has it on her phone. I allows her to see all of her blood test results and shows all sorts of useful things, such as providing a graph of your CA19-9 test across time etc.

This is so useful and could have saved me a lot of bother over the weekend. The hospital I am currently in were comparing my weekend blood tests against the last results from March. This was before I was diagnosed with cancer and before chemo. They were panicking because the liver function tests were raised (something that is expected) but I didn't have access to a copy of my blood test results to see if this was significant or not.

I believe that this APP is available not only to transplant patients but other diseases such as Crohns and is being rolled out.

If you have not heard of it, then I will see what I can find out.

PCUK Nurse Jeni

Hi Toodotty,

No we have not heard of this, actually, but it sounds really good.

It looks like it was first set up for Kidney Transplant patients, but seems it is branching out.

The local unit has to have the Patient View facility as far as I can make out - I haven't delved into it in depth, but have had a look at their home page - https://www.patientview.org

It certainly would make things a lot easier for you as a patient - its always worth asking about such things.

Thanks for flagging it up.

Kind regards,

Jeni.

Hi Jeni,

Right I will investigate, would be good if we were not at the end of the queue for once! Might need to upgrade my retro Nokia phone though ....
