Maryjd
Hi there,My sister in law (aged 48) was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor back in June with secondary lung cancer. Thankfully it hadn't spread to anywhere else but was quite bad in the lungs. She was started straight away on Folfirinox. After 6 rounds her ct scan showed a reduction in the pancreatic tumor but no real improvement in the lungs even though her physical symptoms seemed to suggest an improvement (less coughing and less need to use oxegen). The oncologist is flummoxed as he says he has never seen anyone present with only secondaries in the lungs when the primary cancer is in the pancreas. She started into another 6 rounds of Folfirinox at the beginning of September and two weeks ago had a lung biopsy from 3 places. Since the surgery her lungs have badly deteriorated and she is back using oxegen almost full time. The oncologist has now made the decision to change the chemo to weekly doses of abraxane gemcitabine to try and help the lungs improve but keeps reiterating that they've never seen a case like this before. I'm just wondering if anyone has any similar experience of pancreatic cancer only having spread to the lungs?Kind regards,Mary

Veema
Hi MaryjdMy husband's cancer spread to the lungs initially. It was a good few months before it spread elsewhere. I hope the new regime helps.Vx
