john27 Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Hi Are there any trials going on using vitamin A injections that you know of?ThanksJohn
PCUK Nurse Jeni Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 Hi John,I'm afraid we are not aware of any current clinical trials using Vitamin A. The research in the press this week involving the use of vitamin A, was early stage research in the laboratory setting. The research findings were positive in showing that vitamin A may have a place in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, and these research findings could lead to the development of new treatment methods. However, unfortunately it is still a long way from a new treatment being available. These research findings will now need to be taken forward into clinical research. You can read more about this piece of our research on our website http://www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk/PDF/Research%20Discovers%20Vitamin%20A%20Key%20to%20Fighting%20Cancer.pdfYou may also like to know that Pancreatic Cancer UK has a list of the clinical trials currentlly available in the UK for pancreatic cancer on our website http://www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk/research_trials.htmKind regardsAnna
