Support Team Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 The COVID-19 pandemic has had a big impact on everyone’s lives, and if you have pancreatic cancer we know that it has been a very difficult and challenging time. For that reason, we are running a series of free Living with Pancreatic Cancer online support sessions, to help you deal with issues you might currently be facing. The sessions will be relaxed and informal with a small group of people, and each session will last for an hour and a half.These support sessions will be run on Zoom during July and August and will be hosted by our pancreatic cancer specialist nurses and you will be able to speak to them and ask them any questions you have about dealing with pancreatic cancer. These sessions will also give you the chance to connect with others with pancreatic cancer and share experiences. Each session will cover a different topic such as managing your diet, coping emotionally or exploring how you can live as well as you can with pancreatic cancer – more details can be found below. Here you can discuss symptoms, treatment or how you are coping during this time of isolation. Managing symptoms of pancreatic cancer: 30 July 2020, at 11amHosted by our specialist pancreatic cancer nurse, Di Dobson.Coping with the symptoms of pancreatic cancer can be difficult at any stage. In this session you can discuss your condition either at diagnosis, before or after surgery, during chemotherapy, or if you are not currently having any treatment. Managing nutrition and pancreatic enzymes: 06 August 2020 at 11amHosted by our specialist pancreatic cancer nurse, Jeni Jones. This session with enable you to discuss any nutritional issues, understand some aspects of managing nutrition and the use of pancreatic enzyme replacement, such as Creon. Support in managing at home: 13 August 2020, at 11amHosted by our specialist pancreatic cancer nurse, Nicci Murphy. This session will enable you to understand some of the resources that are available to you in managing at home. Sharing ideas with other people may highlight community resources that may be available for you.You are very welcome to attend as many of the sessions as you like.
