toodotty Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Just a quick reminder to ask you to sign the petition and ask all friends, colleagues etc to sign as well. There has already been a tremendous response, 21,000+ as of last Monday but Pancreatic Cancer UK are aiming for 50,000. I have been working closely with these lovely people and they are absolutely passionate and determined to make a real difference to the way that PC sufferers are treated and the choices available to us all. Thanks and best wishes,Erika
toodotty Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 Well done all, last count we were up to 26,000! So keep getting the message out there. I am also in today's paper, as part of this campaign.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-6407313/The-cancer-means-TWO-WEEKS-wait-surgery-wrecks-patients-chances.htmlSome really interesting stats coming out of all the hard work this charity is putting into making a difference. Let's hope people sit up and take note.Erika
Dandygal76 Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Hello PCUK nurses.. can you please make a printable leaflet as well and put it on the petition page. I have distributed the link far and wide and got dozens of signatures I think. I really get this petition. But, online doesn't work for everyone as a marketing tool and I also have access to various places I could drop leaflets if I could print them (waiting rooms and other places). DG

toodotty Posted December 1, 2018 Author Posted December 1, 2018 Thanks Cheryl, sorry about your husband, this is a truly horrific disease made worse by the fact you do not feel that the NHS is on your side. I was so angry about this I just wanted to do something about it. We now have nearly 46,000 signatures, so thank you for your support.Erika.
kate2101 Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Hi AllIf anyone buying from Amazon, did you know you can sign up to Amazon Smile (dead easy and makes no difference to your buying experience) and .5% of your purchase will be credited to the charity of your choice - Pancreatic Cancer being one of the choices. Do all your Christmas shopping in one place on Amazon and raise money. Simple! Kate
Dandygal76 Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 Hi Jeni - did you have any luck with this? I really would be able to get so many more signatures if I could have a leaflet and a form.
Dee123 Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Please sign this petition if you haven't already, for Erika xx
PCUK Nurse Rachel R Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Some of you may now know the very sad news that Erika Vincent, who has been at the forefront of our Demand Faster Treatment campaign, passed away last week. All of our thoughts are with her loved ones at this extremely difficult time. I’m sure so many of you will be aware of Erika and her amazing, inspiring and kind posts on the forum. She made such a difference in the lives of those affected. We will continue to campaign on Erika’s and so many others’ behalf to change the future for people affected by pancreatic cancer. Our petition demanding faster treatment will be closing on Monday 18 February so that we can present it to government in a couple of weeks. After discussion with Erika’s family, we’d like to ask everyone to keep sharing and signing the petition. The more signatures we can gather, the greater our impact will be. You can read more about the campaign and petition on our website. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’d like to talk as we understand this will be an upsetting time, our contact details are in the signature below.Kind wishes,RachelRachel RichardsonPancreatic Cancer Specialist NurseSupport TeamPancreatic Cancer UKemail: nurse@pancreaticcancer.org.uksupport line: 0808 801 0707
