zeldazoo22 Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 After reading many stories of peoples' PC diagnoses and their myriad of symptoms, I feel guilty for posting on here...I know many people are dealing with much more real, time-sensitive health issues. Just reading them, I've cried several times, as I have with my own set of symptoms. Before I write any further, I should confess that I just had a CT scan of my abdomen with contrast the other day, and too my relief, but also utter disbelief, found that I am cancer free. With that said, I would still love if anyone who had shared my symptoms, and either thought they had cancer or knows about the symptoms that mimic PC symptoms, could help shed some light on my health issues, which are still very real. I was convinced of my having PC, and the former tears and dread are now an embarrassment, realizing I am cancer-free and a 25 year-old cry baby hypochondriac. Nonetheless, I am still riddled with issues that will not fade and continue to cost me lots of money. I'm left feeling confused and angry, and without a direction. To outline my symptoms, what I've been feeling for the past couple of years has been intermittent abdominal pain, especially on the left side. My bowel issues I was having caused me to get a colonoscopy, which came to a "equivocal" diagnosis, with some inflammation in the upper ileum, but still unlikely anything to worry about according to the GI. As of 6 months ago I experienced left flank pain. It would come and go, but would wake me in the morning sometimes. With this I noticed I was feeling slightly nauseas here and there, (with two bouts of uncontrollable morning vomiting happening in the period of 1 year, which I attributed to alcohol but seemed far worse). As the flank pain passed, it came on again, as did a recent left mid back pain that worsens at night and feels like a deep ache tennis ball. What has been accompanying this has been diarrhea, mainly unpleasant, floating stools. Ultimately, I know something is going on in my stomach, as the radiologist noticed possible mesenteric adenitis, or swollen lymph nodes in the belly. Due to this, my weird bowel movements lasting a long time, and my myriad of skin issues, it is clear that the stomach is inflammed. I have read of some people on here having IBD before their cancer, and other autoimmune diseases. I'd really like to know how to investigate this further and figure out what is causing this stuff. Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and I am sorry for being another who is undiagnosed but plagued with annoying symptoms. Thank you.
PCUK Nurse Jeni Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Hi there,Thanks for your post.Sorry to hear that you are suffering from some symptoms of late, but its very reassuring to hear that you have had a clear CT scan - this is a very accurate investigation. It sounds like some of your symptoms may be related to the mesenteric adenitis - have you been back to the gp to find out what is the way forward with this? Perhaps a course of antibiotics might help? I hope that you are able to get some answers to what is causing your issues soon.Kind regards,Jeni.
