Help....... Dad diagnosed with PC Yesterday.....

Recommended Posts

Hello to all of the wonderful people of the forums,

I am still in shock so please excuse the very confused nature of this Post... I am the sort of person who likes to study and find out as much about things as possible, if that makes sense. The Consultant informed my Mum yesterday that the Cancer is inoperable but that a biopsy taken from his liver will determine the type of cancer as one responds well to chemo and the other doesn't?

I am not sure if this has been discussed with the local pancreatic specialist centre (but I presume a discussion has taken place).

I am trying to research as I much as I can, having found the Pancreatic Cancer website and read some of the stories, forum topics etc I feel as though already I am getting a grasp of things.

Thank you for letting me post and releasing some of my thoughts to people who I am sure have been through this.....

PCUK Nurse Jeni

Hello Will,

Thank you for your post on the forums - not a place anyone wants to find themselves.

I am sorry to hear your recent news about your dad - and its perfectly understandable to be in shock at this stage, so please do not apologise at all for this - many people on here will know how you feel, and I am sure that you will get a lot of support from them.

I will just email you directly Will.

Kind regards,

Jeni Jones

Hi Will, Sorry you find yourself in the place no one wants to be but hopefully we can give you some support along this roller coaster journey.

Don't worry about being confused, this disease isn't straight forward. As for your post please post when you are happy, sad, angry and just plain fed up, we have all been there and know exactly how you are feeling, its a place to let off steam!!

Keep in touch and let us know how you are all doing, our nurses are truly fabulous, and very approachable, so don't hesitate to ring or email them if you have any worries, we other forum members will give all the support we can but the nurses are the ones with the real knowledge.

I hope you get some answers as to what happens next soon, take care, sandrax

Thank you Jeni and Sandra for your kind words.

His biopsy is tomorrow so I will more than likely be posting when we know the results of this and the proposed treatment....
