Veebee Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Hello.....After reading a good few threads describing people's treatment and the care services that are in place,it's been a revelation how care and treatments differ from area to area. Where we live we have the Goldline. It's a 24/7 phone line whereby patients or carers can access information or help. The GP surgery has a dedicated phone line for Goldline patients which is a godsend. Is this service nationwide or are there similar services in your area but under a different name? Vee x
Elaine123 Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 That sounds a brilliant service and must take away all the worry of wondering who to phone because sometimes it is enough that someone explains the reason why you are worried. We don't have that in the West of Scotland but we do have the Beatson cancer unit 24 hour help line that cancer patients can phone for advice or to report emergencies etc. I think the GP dedicated line is a marvellous idea. Pity this couldn't be rolled out nationwide.ElaineX
Veebee Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 The phone line has been recently set up at the surgery. It's minimal waiting time on the phone and can be used by all Goldline patients for the usual prescription requests or to speak to a GP. It should be nationwide, Elaine. Vee xx
