Miguel
Hi,I have just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer,I am feeling poorly, but waiting for an appointment at St.James.I have just received a phone call from the endoscopy dept saying I should have been there this morning, but nobody has informed me of the appointment, and now said it will be next Monday,so I have to wait another week, this surely can't be right?. Proud Wife
Hi MiguelI am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I'm sure you must be feeling poorly. Can I firstly suggest that you start your own thread so that you can get as much support here from forum members as you need. You can always call our wonderful specialist nurses who have so much knowledge. That's really not right that you weren't told of the appointment and that you have to wait another week. Is it worth kicking up a fuss with the endoscopy dept saying you can't wait another week?Do you have any idea what this appointment is for exactly? Is it an endoscopy you are supposed to be having and why or some other procedure in the endoscopy unit? forgive me for asking but my late husband was diagnosed by CT scan and then given treatment. He never needed a stent so I'm not sure if that's how stents are dealt with. Other members will know more than me though.Good luck and please keep us posted with your progress. There will always be someone here who can answer your questions.Kind regardsPW
PCUK Nurse Rachel C
Dear Miguel,Apologies for not posting back sooner and thank you Proud Wife for your suggestions and support.Miguel, like PW, I am very sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis and also the fact that you aren't feeling well at the moment. Miguel, I actually think that your post has a couple of different areas to be addressed and it would probably be better to touch base on a one to one?If you do feel able, please do call through to the support line on (freephone) 0808 801 0707 or email us on support@pancreaticcancer.org.uk.Kindest regards,RachelPancreatic Cancer Specialist NurseSupport TeamPancreatic Cancer UKemail: support@pancreaticcancer.org.uksupport line: 0808 801 0707 (10am-4pm)
