Postmanpat Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Hello,Just wondering if anybody can give me some advice.I'm 31 and both my mums parents passed away from pancreatic cancer just wondering if I can get tested as I don't think my mum wants to get tested as she's recently got diabetes and that's what my grandad got a few years before he died from pancreatic cancer, I keep on at her to tested but she's not budging Views and advice pleaseThanx
J_T Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I can see why you'd want your mum to get tested but its up to her. I can also see why you'd want to be tested. Here's the link to the Europac criteria for testing.http://www.europac-org.eu/fpc/criteria.html
Didge Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I wasn't sure whether you meant get tested for likelihood of PC in the future or whether you meant testing now! I think it would be a good idea anyway for your mum to have some kind of tests now because of the family link and the fact that she has recently got diabetes. This is curable if caught early, it's just that it rarely is so good idea for your mum to rule out PC now! Or treat if anything shows up.
