Dear Forum Users,

While we appreciate the profile given to pancreatic cancer within the Coronation Street storyline, we are also very aware of the impact the storyline can have on those with the disease and their friends and families.

The storyline with Hayley will develop over the Christmas holiday period and you may want to be cautious about watching the programme. You can read more details in the Radio Times (spoiler ) http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-12-17/coronation-street-spoilers-hayleys-last-christmas-revealed---julie-hesmondhalgh-interview

If you do watch the programme and anything in the storyline causes you concern please remember that you can contact our Specialists Nurses for information and support by calling 020 3535 7099 or email support@pancreaticcancer.org.uk The Support Line will be open on 24th, 27th, 30th and 31st of December 2013. It will be closed on the Christmas and New Year bank holidays (25th and 26th December 2013 and 1st January 2014). On the bank holiday you can always leave a message or email the nurses at support@pancreaticcancer.org.ukand we will respond when the service is open again.

Best wishes,

The Support Team.

Thank you for this information about the story line in Coronation Street.

When the story started on Coronation Street my mother was alive and was quite interested to watch the story develop as she herself had been diagnosed with inoperable Pancreatic Cancer. We used to watch the story develop on a weekly basis but mum then deteriorated and sadly died on the 17th October. As you can imagine I am totally devastated and am a little cautious of watching Coronation Street now. Its just as if I want to watch it but I also dont want to either as I know its going to upset me.

Thank you for the information anyway, I will keep this in mind.
