Hi, I proposed this site as I had a bad experience (or should that be a naive experience) of trying to get travel insurance once my husband had been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. However, having looked at all of the 'blogs', I think that there are also some positive benefits of this micro-site: insurance, what to take, where to go, good companies, good places, hotels, etc. Trevor is only 47 and has survived one cancer (Kidney); I am 42; we have 2 children (8 & 6) - anything that can make our lives easier is worthwhile. As per the Introduction, I have included this topic as having experienced 'good' understanding from a hotel, I thought it was worthwhile adding. For us, we spent some time over Christmas at the 'Elms Hotel' in Worcester. They have particular cancellation policies. We couldn't get any insurance but explaining this to them, they agreed to hold the room without deposit and to call us back if they needed to. Essentially, they didn't take advantage of us, taking no deposit, were totally compassionate and eventually we were even upgraded and made to feel really special. As per the Introduction please post here any thoughts,ideas, recommendations on Family-Friendly travel. Some of us have young families or are the grandest people with younger members: sometimes we want somewhere to go that offers us that chance to either relax and watch or join in or just enjoy. Where are those places? Let's know about them.
