Advice for diet with Duodenum stent

Postby Dom » Wed Jun 26, 2013 7:19 pm

Hi all - my mum has had a duodenum stent fitted. She is now eating very little as she is worried about getting anything stuck in the stent. I was hoping/wondering if anyone has experience of this and any suggestions towards a suitable diet would be most welcome. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Dom.

Hi Dom and welcome.

My husband has a stent but am ashamed to say I cannot tell you its exact location!

You can email the nurses on the forum direct for the best advice, but its highly unlikely your mum will get any food stuck in her stent. Also, if she has pc the dietary advice is generally to eat foods of high calories - the opposite of the usual advice!

I hope someone with better knowledge can give you more help, or, as I say, you may be better emailing or ringing Jeni or Dianne. Tel 020 3535 7099 or email: support@pancreaticcancer.org.uk.

Best wishes
Julia
