Insurance

When we went to Tenerife in February, my husband used MIA Online Ltd for his insurance. He found them to be very sensitive and symathetic when dealing with his prognosis etc. They were also a lot cheaper than other companies - £49 for a week's cover. Luckily, we didn't need to use them so I can't say what the service is like if you do need any help.

Also, remember to apply for the European Health Insurance Card before you travel to Europe. It is free and entitles you to receive basic medical care if you need it (presumably with less hassle). Also, it means that if you need to receive care for ongoing health problems once you are there, then that is free also. It is not just for emergencies. Visit www.dh.gov.uk/travellers for more info.

Ellie
