Hi All,
Just a quick update. I am in hospital again. Checked myself in on Monday because of the growing belly and difficulties with breathing. This time I went to the local hospital and was very happy with the choice. Everybody is lovely here and very much focused on palliative care. They did a heart ultrasound and that confirmed that there isn’t anything serious there. It did find some ascites in the belly and lung but not enough for draining. They have been keeping me on diuretics and that greatly reduced pressure in the tummy. My painkiller has been to changed Fentanyl and I actually slept better last night than many nights before. I also get a top up of Oramorph when needed. Today I became jaundiced again so they sent me to the scan straight away to check the stent. I am currently awaiting for the results. My husband was also invited for a chat today and told that my liver has deteriorated dramatically in the last couple of weeks. The team discussed arrangements for going home and reassured us that at any time I can call and they will find me room to put me straight through without having to wait in an emergency. I will have a nurse coming over to help me wash and with some medications.
I feel like people appear to be in control here which make me feel more relaxed in the situation.
Love to everyone,
stepuha

Sorry to hear that you’re in hospital again but it looks like you will be home soon with support in place that you are happy with. Taking that worry away is essential. Do keep an eye on the ascites though. If you are uncomfortable it’s better to have it drained sooner rather than later xx

Hey lovely lady, I am glad you are going home. Are they stopping the new chemo routine you are on or will you carry on? They can manage the Ascites at home but I agree with Didge that you don't wait too long if it starts to be painful. I am not sure if France is the same but they seem to take an age here to get their act together to sort it. You know where I am if you need me... I have all the time in the world for you so call any time. I did message you a few days ago but there is no pressure - enjoy your home time, your family and being ascites free. Much love. x

Thanks for your update Stepuha. I hope you get home very soon and that the new regime of pain relief and the extra support from the nurse make things a lot easier.
Big hugs, much love and loads of good wishes from me to you.

Best wishes Stepuha,
Being in hospital is never nice but at least you are getting some relief. I hope that you are feeling a little better and getting some pain free rest and its good to know that you feel you are getting good nursing and treatment.
You have many friends on the forum who are thinking of you, praying for you and walking along the path with you. I hope it is of some small comfort.
I wish you a good day

It is with great sadness, and with the permission of Stepuha's family, that i need to announce that after 13 months and 2 days since diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer, Stephua passed away around 6am on 23rd November peacefully in her sleep. Her husband has stated that she will always be remembered to be an amazing lady with endless determination, and has been a loving mother to her two young children. She was admired by so many and loved dearly by those close to her. She can now rest eternally in peace.
Much love lovely lady from DG. x

Thanks for posting that DG.
I think that to many of us Stepuha was 'a friend that we hadn't met yet'.

Such sad news of one so young. It is good and reassuring to know she went peacefully. The family will miss their partner and mother but will also have the very finest example of love and courage to guide and inspire them in life. God bless Stepuha, you touched many lives, may you rest in peace.
