Well hes been for his paper and now hes gone down road to put his bets on. So while this is happening we must be ok. We go for a full scan today to see what is happening results last Friday in month. First mile stone hit this week his 55th birthday next one Christmas. Feeling for every one with this B and keep wondering what will happen later on down the line for us, there is no pattern. Chin up wacky keep smiling x

Well went for scan, took as long to get a car parking space as it did for him to drink the fluid and have the scan. Thanks all for your support. Hes back down road for his winnings, only puts a few pounds on at a time so we are not going to be millionaires lol. So we wait now till end of month to see the grim reaper (oncologist) beloved named her that as she never as any good news, you have to laugh. Looks as if we are all having scans at same time, lets hope someone gets some good news. Thinking of you all wacky x PS hes just got back and he won 81p what can I say ........

Hi Wacky,

Had to answer this, as my dad loves betting on the horses too. The main time he leaves the house is to walk down to the betting shop.

You're husband seems to be doing really well. I really hope it continues for you both, and for him to keep betting.

Well you don't have to have chemo to have fun and games with this B. Over weekend breathlessness and dizziness. Tuesday beloved asked for Dr. Dr came to house chest clear blood pressure low and 2 viles of blood taken and a prescription for antibiotics given, did tell Dr we had had a scan Thursday previous. Two hours later call from Dr to say scan showing slight infection on lungs so antibiotics would sort that. Two hours later call from Dr to say red blood count down and we might need a blood transfusion,he would get in contact with our oncologist. Wednesday call from Dr asking how we are and to say left message for oncologist as she was not working today. Yesterday call from oncologist asking how he is, and yes needs a transfusion, and come in when hes ready. So beloved went in late yesterday afternoon and transfusion over night. Have just spoke to him and he says he feels like a new man no dizziness or breathlessness so all good. But best bit while speaking to oncologist she did say every thing looked ok on scan and the B had only grown slightly and she was well impressed with that to say we only had 3 weeks on chemo and would talk more at end of month. So all good, wonder if metformin helping remember Didge sent a link you never know funny old world we live in x

Went to see oncologist today, the B as grown that slightly they cant measure how much and also she advised markers dropped to 400, so what do we say to all this "good stuff". The problem we have at the moment is his weight oncologist wants him to put a bit on (lost another kg) before chemo so we are to up creon and as much chocolate as he wants (sod diabetes last reading was 6.5 so metformin must be working) we go back end of January to see if we can start on Gembacitaban, so we are not fattening the turkey up for xmas we are fattening beloved up. Overall good outcome to say nearly 9 months since all started and only 3 weeks of chemo. Thanks for all your support and Jayne hope your ok x

That's great news Wacky, about the shrinkage. I put double cream in Trevor's porridge every morning more butter in mash, butter on vegetables, more butter on his bread and he has just started back on his fortisip drinks, he is eating well, but only mealtimes, where as before he was constantly hungry. The main problem is I am putting weight on like Nikki, which I certainly don't need!!! The thing that worries me is, we will extend their lives one way whilst killing them off with too much fat, can't win can we, take care sandrax xx
