I am sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis. Yes I can only imagine how many different things are going through your head as you contemplate the road ahead, I'm sure lots of the forum family can relate to that.
I know that you will be interested in hearing first hand from folks that have been through, or are currently undergoing treatment, however please do consider giving us Nurses a call on the support line or sending us an email - details are in the signature below. We are here to support you Week20.

Re: Any information would help
Hi Week 20,
A few things might be helpful here.
- Increase fluid intake - water in particular. This will hydrate the bowel and hopefully, help the movement of the bowel.
- Increase natural fibre - fruit, vegetables, wholegrain. A small handful of all bran on your cereal is a really good help to regulate the bowels. Still keep the fluids up though.
- Have you tried any laxatives? Laxido or movicol are good as they add bulk to the stool. Avoid things like Lactulose, as this causes a lot of wind (flatulence).
- Exercise is also good for helping the bowels - a short walk might help, and is not too strenuous.
I hope some of these might be helpful.

Re: Any information would help
Hi Week20, your post could have been written by me. I too have Stage 3 locally involved adenocarcinoma and was diagnosed at the end of November. Due to start chemo before Christmas, but delayed as I needed a stent and am having first folfirinox session next week. My head has been all over the place too, it was such a shock and so much information to take in. It was so surreal talking about it relating to me, but not really believing it or wanting to. I think it's sinking in now and chemo pre assessment today has been helpful as I was worrying about the picc line, unnecessarily as it turned out as it's quite straightforward.
I hope your issues with constipation have resolved, I have the opposite problem and struggle with creon.
Good luck with it all x

Hi Week 20,
I think that there may be a clinical trial available at the XX Hospital in XX for Stage III patients using Nanoknife to peel the tumour away from the vessel. May be worth a follow up?
