Hi

I'm new to the forum. I'm looking for some advice.

My mum is getting a distal pancreatectomy in four weeks time for a benign serous cystadenoma. Can I ask a favour - I'd love any feedback from anyone who may have had one of these procedures, or may know someone who did.

Thanks in advance

hello pauline, welcome, evryone responds, reacts differently to any surgery, depends on so many factors, and the condition of the patient.

my husband went in for whipple op, april 2010, age 60 unable to complete because tumour wrapped round smv, bypass done, sewn up, in hosp 2 weeks, chemo started may 2010, 19 months treatment, doing ok, tumour there but shrunk, this is just one of the more successful stories, we are very lucky.

i put distal pancretectomy in google, there is plenty for you to read about the op, if thats what you want

take it easy, cos could confuse you, better really if you had good discussion with the surgeon

all the best to you all, love laura x
