afc333 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 In today's Sunday Times (2nd Dec 2007) there is the story of Randy Pausch who has pancreatic cancer and lesions on his liver. However he felt well enough to give an outstanding Last Talk lecture at his university of Carnegie Mellon. Its well worth following - not least for his coping mechanisms and humour. I never know whether to recommend articles like this to my wife who is coming up to her 5th year since diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Because of the liver lesions he is taking it for granted that he has six months left. I will mention it actually - somebody at work will almost certainly refer to it to her tomorrow. You can see both his story and speech at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/On that site there is also a link to the Lustgarten Foundation which says as strongly as anybody in the UK that there needs to be more publicity, funding and research for pancreatic cancer.Anthony
