Hello.

I had a endoscopy 3 weeks ago and now I have a letter to see the consultant or a team member on thr 25th of August.

I know that's 7 weeks after my endoscopy but I'm now really scared something is wrong. Though my report seemed fine.

Can anyone help to put my mind at rest or are they still investigating?

Thankyou all

That seems odd to me, I would go back to your consultant and ask why.

I had the results of my endoscopy discussed with me within a week.

My endoscopy was clear - but I had pancreatic cancer. Now hindsight is 20/20, but I wish I would have pushed for a ct scan with a pancreas protocol. We lost almost two months with 'oh perhaps you have indigestion' 'oh, maybe it's irritable bowel syndrome'. If I hadn't developed jaundice, I could still be unaware of this cancer. So if I had a do over, I'd have pushed for a scan sooner.

I'm sorry to scare you... keep in mind everyone is unique and different... but my point is, you have to be your advocate for your health. Don't hesitate tp ask questions and insist you feel comfortable with the next steps. All the best, Lx

Great reminder from @Lori that everybody is different and what's true for one person may well not be true for you.

It's also good advice about having the confidence to advocate for your health - if you're left with questions, things seem unclear or you're not sure what the next steps are and when they'll happen, please don't hesitate to contact the person in charge of your care.

The specialist nurses on our Support Line are also here if you'd like to talk about your endoscopy report and any anxieties you might have. We're here to support you - you're not alone.
