Distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy

Hi

I am new to this. I have been diagnosed with a mucinous cystic neoplasm on the tail end of my pancreas and have been listed for the above surgery. Just wondered if there was anyone out there who had been through the same thing?

I'm going through something similar. Actually, still waiting for the results of my biopsy. Has Whipple surgery been suggested?

I've started to research alternatives but struggling.

No the cyst is at the tail end and i think Whipple is done when the cyst is at the head end? Have u had the results of your biopsy?

Wipple for head Distal for tail.  I had Distal for Cancer.

Hi Daisy!

I'm in the same boat. Diagnosed with likely MCN, recommending distal pancreatectomy but doing a final confirmation with an EUS soon. I have literally zero advice but just wanted to say you're not alone!
