Vasil Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Dear friends, my father has inoperable metastatic PDAC and is on FOLFIRINOX. He has been scheduled for 12 cycles total. In the Internet most websites say that 12 cycles is the maximum number of treatments. But what follows next? Does anyone know? Does one stop chemo or takes a break or goes on a different regime. Thank you.
PCUK Nurse Rachel R Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Hi Vasil,It's Rachel here, one of the nurses. Generally speaking yes that is correct, however there are some exceptions. It's really about each individual case; taking into consideration how an individual person responds to treatment, how they tolerate treatment and what their wishes are. We'd be more than happy to talk things through with you Vasil on the support line - either give us a call or drop us an email.Sending kind wishes to you and your Father.Rachel Rachel RichardsonPancreatic Cancer Specialist NurseSupport TeamPancreatic Cancer UKemail: nurse@pancreaticcancer.org.uksupport line: 0808 801 0707
