Go green sue Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hi, I just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything like me. I had a distal pancreatectomy in August 2014 to remove 3 IPMNs and was told everything was fine with a good clearance. However I have just had my 6 monthly MRI and been told I have a new IPMN in the head of the pancreas . Apparently it is fairly small but I go back to see my consultant next Monday to see what he decides to do.Best wishes to all you fighters out there! Will let you know what my consultant saysSue xxxx
J_T Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hi Sue, I have no experience but wanted to wish you luck on Monday. Presumably they will treat it fairly rapidly?Best wishes Julia x
Didge Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 It's good that they are monitoring you so well. Assume a whipples to remove more or possibly all the remaining pancreas will be advised. If so I wish you luck but getting rid of the IMPNs for good and hopefully beating this thing sounds like a good option! There are many people who have had their whole pancreas removed. Anyway, until Monday you won't know what is proposed but feel positive that a solution will be offered! xxx
Sueoliver Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hi Sue just wanted to say good luck for Monday. I really hope they can treat you quickly. Thinking of you. Sue x
Go green sue Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 Hi, thank you for your replies. My specialist nurse couldn't really tell me anymore today but they have been very thorough with me. As you probably know my mum died at 62 of this corse and likewise her dad at 62 so I really hope they decide to remove the whole pancreas as this bl**dy is out to get me!!!Will keep you postedSue
