Didge Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 we are having a lot of pain which appears to be from the port area or where it goes under the skin. the port has been in for getting on for 6 months. anyone had experience of pain from ports? of course it could be something more sinister but he says it 'feels mechanical'.
MSH Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I am now on my second port, the first having been in for twelve months and have had no pain other than transitory stinging when any crusting has been wiped away. Both mine have been/are central lines which means there is a fair amount of tunnelling under the skin from the exit site.It may well be "mechanical" but to be honest I think you need to be excluding infection/thrombosis.
