Nelsmum
Hi Steve, I saw you mentioned your sore mouth in another's post, if it is thrush I found vitamin B (multi B) helped me (for the other kind of thrush). However as I am sure you know you would have to check with your medics as to whether they are ok with that. You would have to take double the daily dose to have an effect and as I say, it may not be appropriate. Another thing is live plain unsweetened yoghurt, hold it mouth for a little while before swallowing, it might sooth.Jane C

Slewis7313
Thanks all......the Birthday is today and we are having a smaller family relax at a local Hotel/Spa (Margaret, myself, the Daughters and their partners). Yesterday was the big bash which was fantastic, I managed to stay awake until almost midnight and drank too much (by my new pc standards) wine and beer.SteveX

Bee
Hi Steve,I rarely post on here now but do lurk and follow progress. Had to log on and wish you a belated happy birthday. I am delighted you have reached a milestone birthday and have been able to celebrate with your family. I continue to follow your progress and wish you well. I know Chris would also have been pleased for you and echoed my wishes, although he never posted he knew about you as your treatment and condition was so similar to his in the early days.Keep fightingBee xx

Slewis7313
Need a little advice please. The chemo is going OK, though the neuropathy is worse (hands and feet) and I seem to now have thrush. Is there any thrush treatment available without prescription to tide me over until I can ask my specialist nurse for something on Monday? Thanks in advance!SteveX
Didge
Probiotics are supposed to help. Get someone to ask at a health food shop for best option. I'm assuming it's oral thrush? You can get probiotic capsules which are stronger than the yoghurts people use.
MSH
Steve, most of the anti-thrush stuff doesn't need a prescription you should be able to buy nystatin oral suspension from most chemists. I never had it in my mouth, just some mouth ulcers but I did get some sort of fungal lesion on my cheek which cleared quickly enough with canesten. SueH
Hi SteveHope your wife has managed to get a remedy. Re your sleep patters my husband took levomepromazine also known as Nozinam for a few nights after chemo it is a relaxant and helps you sleep as well as an anti sickness med so it can be very useful.
