I went to the birthday do on Sat and took some pics for him. It was a nice break. Then on Sunday I returned to the hospice where I have been sleeping on a chair bed in the room. He had a very bad day yesterday completely zonked and unresponsive but is better today. Was supposed to be working today but nurses advised ne against leaving but he has rallied so may make another attempt to leave tomorrow night. Love to all x

Thanks. I have worked yesterday and today and will go back to the hospice tomorrow after I have done the Race for Life. He has been a little better but still struggling with pain relief so no going home for now x

Actually I realise my last post doesn't fully reflect the position as he's had a couple of quite raucous parties in his hospice room this week with friends! (there has been the odd complaint!) Even when not always able to join in the talk, he has enjoyed listening so there's life in the old dog yet. x

Hi Didge.

Sue makes me smile too, although we didn't have the parties!!!, the weekend before Trevor died my sister and her husband visited and she said the thing she will always remember, was we were chatting and although Trevor seemed to be sleeping. he would keep putting in his bit if he didn't agree with what we were saying, or thought we had something not right, she said it always makes her smile.

Good luck in your race for life Didge, would love to sponsor you if you put up the link, won't be a lot but every little helps.

3 months yesterday since I lost Trevor (don't really like that expression seems as though I put him down somewhere and can't remember where) in one way it seems like years and in another way seems like a couple of weeks, strange thing grief !! love too you both sandrax xx

I am not sure I am allowed to put up the link because of the rules but if you ask the nurses to give me your email addresses I will gladly send the link, thanks! Just completed it x

Hi Didge

Just wanted to to say what an amazing person you are. You have offered me support a number of times whilst you are obviously going through so much. I have no inspirational words of comfort to offer as I am so new to this but I do have recent experience of having my mum in a hospice. It's really hard but I am sure Rob gets a lot of comfort from you being by his side through it all.

Well done for completing the a race for Life, especially when you have so much to deal with.

Thinking of you both, take care Marie xxx

Sadly I have to tell you that my darling Rob slipped peacefully away just after 6pm tonight. Together only two years (and only 2 months before diagnosis), to say I feel cheated of more time with this wonderful character is an understatement! Love and peace (in the words of our much loved Cestrian) to all x

So sorry to hear this. I only joined the forum in March but you have been a constant source of suggestions and support to me and many others despite your own difficult times. It will of course be difficult without him but treasure your memories and remember all the good times. Take care of yourself.
