Re: Mum's diagnosis

Mum is still coping with chemo and put on some weight but at her check up yesterday had lost 6lb. I know this has nothing to do with PC but my niece has secondary breast cancer and collapsed a week ago. She has now only a few days to a few weeks she is so poorly. I feel as if my family is being hit ...

Re: External Pancreatic Tumor and Liver blood vessels

I am shocked that an oncologist would walk out! Your poor mum! There must be another oncologist you can see. Oncologists should be positive and helpful! I hope things improve for you all. Sue

Re: External Pancreatic Tumor and Liver blood vessels

Hi my mum is 76 and was diagnosed in May. Her tumour also involves blood vessels and she was told was inoperable. Mum is currently on folfironox chemo as recommended by her oncologist. Ask as many questions as you can and try and get treatment moving as quickly as you can. This is a good forum with ...

Re: Mum's diagnosis

Thankyou for the replies. The oncologist was very pleased with mum today. She has put on some weight and has her strength back. They are starting the folfirinox again on Friday! She will have 3 more and then a CT scan to see what is happening. This is such good news as she was so poorly a couple of ...

Re: Is this the beginning of the end?

Hi my mum was like this a couple of weeks ago and they found the tumour was pressing on the duodenum. They have put a stent in now and she has really improved. I hope you find out if anything else is wrong with your dad. This is such a hard journey with so many twists and turns. Take care. Sue x
