Re: My lovely Dad

Dear All, My dad has had his best week since the diagnosis. His stent has worked and his jaundice was down to 41 so he is much more comfortable. He saw the oncologist who said there had been a meeting and gastriologist (sorry about spelling) who had fitted Dad's stent had been enquiring at the speci...

Re: I think my dads journey is nearing its end

Jane,
You, your family and your dad are in my thoughts at this sad time. I hope you can get his pain under control which is my greatest fear for the end.

Re: Lost in a nightmare

Hi Amanda, This such a horrible disease. I so sorry Phil had been laid low with the Chemo - I have no experience of it yet as my Dad is hoping to start in the next couple of weeks if his oncologist feels he is strong enough and his jaundice has gone. Dad had a lot of conflicting advice regarding wha...

Re: False negative result ERCP

Hi Sorry to hear about your Mum, my dad also didn't get a positive result from his Biopsy in Jan from the ERCP. The oncologist said they could do it again but they would have to go through his back to try reach the tumour. It would have to to performed in the specialist centre which is over 100 mile...

Re: Overwhelmed - husband diagnosed, in hospital - decisions

Hi Larrybee, I am delighted that John's stent has been successfully inserted. My Dad's had his in for just over a month. He looks (jaundice has gone) and feels so much better. He has even been up to having some day trips out around the Lakes this week which was not the case a couple of weeks ago! We...

Re: My lovely Dad

Thank you Julia my dad lives on the west coast. Yes the two professionals disagreed but no mention was made about the intestines on Tuesday. The original CT scan was down in Manchester and Cumbria professions say it is not that clear. He had a smaller scan on his kidneys and one dr said it was a cys...

Re: My lovely Dad

Hi Dad went for his consultants meetings on Tuesday. The oncologist said the brushing (biopsy) they did with the ERCP came back negative but he said he and other colleagues were in no doubt that it was PC. He offered Dad another biopsy which could be done by endoscope or by going through Dad's back ...
