Messy Steve - Fundraising

Hi all

Here is a great video of our daughters childminder 'getting messy' to raise
Funds for PCUK. The kids loved throwing food over him as much as the adults!

Re: My 41 years old husband has inoperable pancreatic cancer

Hi Susanna Please do not worry as this is common and has happened to my husband on numerous occasions. He is now on cycle 15 of folfirinox. He always goes back one week later and everything goes ahead as normal. My husband swears by eating kiwi fruit and oranges to improve his platlets and getting t...

Re: Advice needed - Stomach looks bloated & heartburn

Hi Sandra Yes he's back home and back at work thank you. Almost as though it never happened. Chemo due tomorrow so will be interesting to see if his bloods have recovered. They don't know what caused it exactly but he recovered quickly & responded well so they don't seem too worried. I guess when yo...

Re: Advice needed - Stomach looks bloated & heartburn

Good news for us. Jim should be home tomorrow as it was a case of an enlarged liver that is now
Back to normal and the infection looks to have cleared. He's feeling much better too. Eventful weekend - can't believe it's only Monday!!!!

Re: Advice needed - Stomach looks bloated & heartburn

Thank you for the info Steve - really interesting and I'll let Jim know. He is still in hospital on the antibiotic drip as the think its an infection most likely caused by blockage to bile duct. He isn't jaundiced at all but does have pain in that area. I'd be grateful if anyone has experienced this...

Re: Folfirinox experiences please

So sorry to hear about your husband! My husband is 37 and was diagnosed in November 2013. He has had 12 folfirinox treatments and tolerated them well. Tired the first four days but then back at work / playing golf. He doesn't have quite the same energy levels but life is very normal out with those f...

Re: Advice needed - Stomach looks bloated & heartburn

Aww thanks for thinking of me! I'm much more relaxed thank you. Had to have two injections in my metatarsals today for a silly little foot injury but they were really painful and was desperately waiting for Jim to get home from golf so he could take over with daughter & I could put feet up with some...

Re: Advice needed - Stomach looks bloated & heartburn

Hi, Thank you so much for your replies. He's been hooked up to antibiotics as they think it's an infection but have taken bloods so we will know for sure in the morning. He was sick for the first time ever since diagnosis & that's made him feel much better so hopefully that was the pain in his stoma...

Re: Advice needed - Stomach looks bloated & heartburn

He couldn't sleep so called nurses and they've sent him to the cancer centre he attends! Fingers crossed it's just something that needs drained.

Advice needed - Stomach looks bloated & heartburn

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has experienced a swollen stomach and heartburn? Jim has come home feeling hot & unwell. Along with feeling sick he has a swollen stomach and heartburn. Sounds as if there is a build up of some kind. Has anyone else experienced this? He has gone to try sleep it off and s...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Hi everyone, thank you for the your kind replies. It is a funny old disease when you are celebrating still being terminally ill but at diagnosis I never dreamt he would still be this healthy 9months on. Really interesting about the treatment at home - Jim quite enjoys his trips to the cancer centre ...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Hi everyone! I just wanted to update you on Jim's treatment - he has now had 12 rounds of folfirinox and the latest scan again shows no change in the tumour. We are pleased there has been no growth! Best we could have hoped for. When he was diagnosed in November we were told they would do these 12 r...
