Re: Diet help and advice
Hi Elle, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, this disease is truly horrendous. The big thing I think we have all learnt is not to insist that the patients eats, we were lucky in that my husband had a good appetite, but lots of others are just like your Dad. The drinks on prescription from the GP F...

Re: This seems to be all happening too fast
Hi Derek's daughter, please don't apologise for the length of your post, this is the place to let it all out. I am really sorry I can't answer your question, this disease is horrendous, it can strike so quickly, we were lucky my husband was well for about 18 months and had 22 rounds of chemotherapy ...

Re: Medication
Hi Cathy, sorry to hear about you Mum, just to let you know your mum will get AA its per person not per household. If you contact MacMillan they will sort out the paperwork, its is very straightforward as PC is a life limiting disease, she can also get a blue badge, which can make things easier, tak...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .
Oh Mo, I have been through all those feelings, its just so shit being on your own. I always seem to cry when I do the garden, it was very much Trevor's domain, I did the planning and choosing he did the planting and sorting, he loved it not too sure what he was doing and quite often left a nice heal...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .
Mo, Trevor's dressing gown was behind the bathroom door until my Son and his family moved in at the end of August, so don't worry yet. When I finally moved it to the bag to go to the recycling bin, I then took the bag to the recycling at our Adsa, by the time I had done my shopping it was dark, the ...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .
Hi Mo, How well you are doing, its nearly 3 years since I lost Trevor and even though the house is a bit emptier than before we still haven't made it to the back of the garage. I agree 1000% about the nuts bolts and bits of wood, metal. and don't get me going on the tins of paint!!!!, actually I fee...

Re: Concerned husband
Saxon, sorry you find yourself here, but hopefully we can all help with the roller coaster ride you find yourselves on. My husband, Trevor had 12 rounds of chemo in his first session, 6 x 5FU then 6 Folfirinox, his bloods were fine. After a 6 month break he started treatment again and on the second ...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .
Mo, as stupid as it seems that feeling of control is so good, I was much the same but didn't do the 22 second thing I must admit. As you say its the last thing you can do for your beloved Peter and you want to send him off in great style. Its so lovely that you have had lots of support, it is needed...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .
They are all exactly right Mo, and that's were the hospice is so great they let you do it your way. I wanted to be with Trevor 24/7 and hold his hand, they were there in the background, and I knew when I needed them they would be there, peace of mind for me. I didn't want the boys to see him die, I ...
