Re: A New Chapter

Been horridly lax looking after you guys so thanks for still looking out for me and Mum. Steve - hope you're in or imminently off to Cyprus! Cathy, hope you're not on the hook for snagging the greenhouse if you messed it up, but then again the company sounds like a revisit would be worthwhile! Nikki...

Re: A New Chapter

Not such a good time. Mum's in hospital with an infection I think is linked to her stent. She was shivering uncontrollably, throwing up constantly and high temp. Ambulance in and IV fluids and antibiotics overnight. Low liver pain on palpation & bloods, x-ray done. More vomiting overnight, was bile-...

Re: A New Chapter

Thanks lovely ladies. The petition reaching the target gave both of us a big boost, but think I'm going to put a lid on stuff for a while and chill out with her.

Re: So apparently my father has cancer now.

How terrifying for you both, I hope they manage to stabilise your Dad so you have at least a little while to gather yourselves. So sorry persephone.

Re: A New Chapter

Have just made the decision to use the sick note the doc gave me last time I saw him. At the time felt I couldn't do that to my boss, but a week on I've given in. Mum is pleased. I haven't been properly well for 8-10 weeks and have just had a chest x-ray for a persistent cough (had a Bupa lifescan i...

Re: Carls story

Oh guys, that's amazing! Off the back of hearing about Mike I so needed to see something like this. Brilliant, Fab, Spectacular, Mahoosively Wonderful and all the other words like that I can't think of right now.

Hugs to you both and huge good luck for the future!

Re: Mike - Cestrian

Crying...haven't been on for a while to properly read people's news. He buoyed me up in my darkest moments and spoke to me like a surrogate Dad, just when, with my Dad gone, I needed that most. Not a formal believer in religion, but do believe the energy in a person doesn't just disappear and he was...

Re: A New Chapter

Thanks lovely lady. Just had a productive GP visit. Amazing given my opening gambit was "don't even know why I'm here cos I doubt you can help" <<misery guts-tastic. He's suggested a couple of checks to see if I've got a rumbling infection, a chest xray and a couple of weeks off work. He took more t...

Re: A New Chapter

Feeling very lonely and low. Realising that being the only one fit and able to fight Mum's corner without anyone beyond my man as a real life support network is going to perhaps be tougher than I can handle. Was told by a friend tonight that my priorities should be me, my family, then mum, in that o...

Re: A New Chapter

Again thank you all, and may well take you up on that offer Cathy! Mum is working hard to get some practical things sorted, she, like me, deals by doing. I've been crazy busy on Twitter today @S_Clarke22 and have updated my blog http://www.infospectives.me , with Mum's permission, to try and prompt ...

Re: A New Chapter

Hard one to write this... CRT impact was lessening with the exception of the nausea, but with all the unexpectedly harsh reactions to things I wanted to summarise the situation for all who'd been involved in her care. Sent a mail doing that to Surgeon, London oncologist & current oncologist. The ups...

Re: Carls story

Glad you had the same experience Ant and Nikki, contrary bugger isn't he! Like Mum being told they thought she'd sail through CRT then it knocking her for 6. More on that on my thread soon. Just gathering my thoughts. As these kind peeps have said, everybody's different (and repeat ad nauseum when u...
