Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Dear All, Yesterday we had Paul's funeral. Just the girls, Paul's Mum, brother and I went to the crematorium, and then we had a service in church, with so many special people there. As well as family and friends, there were 2 home chemo nurses, his favourite district nurse and even one of the team f...

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Cathy, I will get your details and get in touch soon. Jayne, thank-you for your wonderful card (Jayne sent me a card with Pooh on and the "how lucky am I quote"). I had just come back from the church, where we are having Paul's service on Monday, with my friend, and it made us both cry, it was so ve...

Re: Carls story

Such lovely comfy chairs Rob, NOT!
Anyway, that sounds amazing to me Rob, we have all heard stories of tumours disappearing and it couldn't happen to a nicer couple. Personally I am disappointed there are no dressing gown outings,
Lots of love,
Nikki

Re: Carls story

That all sounds good to me Rob, but as you say you need to speak to the Prof, get everything clear, and then hopefully you can relax again x

Re: Carls story

Rob,
I have sat were you were so many times on my own, waiting to see what the outcome was. I am sorry I have only just seen this, as would have messaged you, so you knew you wasn't on your own. Really hope everything is now ok.
Lots of love,

Nikki

Re: How long to get definite diagnosis

Dear Fiona, Just wanted to say it was good to hear from you the other day. I am always thinking about you and James an wondering how you are. It sounds like you are soldiering on, with very little support, I imagine you are exhausted. Please tell James, Paul wasn't keen on hospice involvement, but t...

Re: Travel insurance

Hi Emma, So sorry to hear about your Dad. When we went on holiday last year we also had the same problem because of the chemo. One company did say they would insure us, but in the end we didn't bother as the travel insurance through our medical insurance covered us. Unfortunately I can't remember wh...

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Hi Leila, The girls and I are doing ok. I guess it helps that we have had time to prepare for this, it doesn't mean we miss him any the less, but I remember when my Dad died suddenly of a heart attack, it was just so hard to take in. I have also spent so little time with the girls over the last 8 we...

Re: Carls story

Lovely Carl and Rob,
I hope all goes well on Monday, I am sure it will, and I will be thinking of you. If you are on the oncology ward (first floor, new building), say hello from me to everyone, and if you meet Gladys the cleaner, ask her to sing a song, you won't regret it!

Lots of love,
Nikki

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Thank you all, so, so much, I read your posts out to my youngest daughter, it was so special to share them with her, and tell her a little bit of your stories, and some of you she was pleased to recall she has heard me mentioning before. Funnily enough it was a lovely day yesterday. As many of you kn...

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

My wonderful, handsome, clever husband quietly slipped away in the night. The girls and I could not have wished for a more loving, pretty near perfect husband and father. I consider my self incredibly lucky that he chose to spend his life with me. Paul would have put up with any amount of pain, and ...
