Hi Nikki,

Great to hear the hospice has helped and that you have a new plan, onwards and upwards.

Re: Taking the plunge!

Thank you all for your kind words, it really helps. Have messaged June on Facebook as I think some of you are in touch there, don't know other surnames and I think she is away on holiday so will await her return and hopefully join you all on Facebook. Nikki, so glad you and the girls stayed with Pau...

Re: After treatment

Hi helen, sorry to hear of your husbands diagnosis. My husband also had chemo then chemo alongside chemoradiotherapy. A ct scan is done after 3 months, as radiotherapy continues to have an effect after treatment has stopped. A ct scan immediately after radiotherapy has stopped wouldn't show the full...

Re: Taking the plunge!

Hi everyone, I don't post often but do still read all the posts. So the funeral was 23rd December , howling wind and pouring rain, which would have made Chris chuckle! Standing room only in the church, over 350 people there, completely overwhelming for all of us. The service was just lovely, a real ...

Re: Folfirinox- seems to be working!

Hi Nikki, I am sorry you are having such a difficult time and I hope the hospice can help, with Paul's pain. As others have said it is so hard and mental torture going through this. All I can echo is grab the positive moments when they happen, we were so fortunate that chris remained really well thro...

Re: My husband massive pleural enfussion

Lyn,
I send you all good wishes. I lost my Chris 14 days ago and we had the funeral on 23rd, so I know how hard this is. Nothing will make it better but all I can suggest is go with the flow and take it hour by hour. I continue to do so.

Re: Taking the plunge!

Hi everyone, Thank you all for your lovely words. So the funeral is tomorrow. This all feels so unreal, perhaps it will hit tomorrow. I feel numb for the majority of the time, and although I know he won't I expect him to walk in the front door or text me or phone. When I don't feel numb I just feel ...

Re: Taking the plunge! An update x

Hi everyone , I have been reading all of your posts over the last few weeks and know that some of you have been wondering how Chris is, and how the duodenal stent placement went. Well what can I say? Duodenal stent was requested on Friday 22nd November and we went home to await the appointment , but...

Re: Bill has gone

Hi June, I was wondering how you were both doing as you hadn't posted for a while. I am sorry to hear you have lost your beloved Bill, it sounds like you will have a full house today and that he was a well loved and respected man. I have no doubt you will find your courage today and do everyone prou...

Re: Taking the plunge!

After my moan this morning I have at least established that I am not paranoid. Chemo planned for today but all change! Short version, after amazing attention from specialist nurse and consultant ( again!), chemo all delayed as duodenal stent now needed. Stomach not emptying properly due to duodenal ...

Re: Whipple operation halted

Hi, Just re fortisip drinks etc. we have that on prescription, they come in juice or milkshake variety . We initially saw the dietician who put chris down to receive some free samples. We had two boxes delivered within two days, from fortisip and fresubin. He tried them all and then went to gp and g...

Re: Taking the plunge!

Hi, Nikki, your drawer sounds like my kitchen cabinet, I had a cracking headache the other day , looking for nurofen and was laughing out loud as it occurred to me there was definitely a few items in our kitchen which would sort my headache out! Some days are so difficult aren't they, and it does se...
