Re: TED Talk on pancreatic cancer - Looks exciting

Thanks W&M, missed that! Targeted treatment, what could make more sense?! Let's hope its development and use is sooner rather than later x

Re: My Journey So Far

Dear Mark So very saddened to read your latest post. As you know, I have followed your story from the start as you were diagnosed at a similar time to Ray. You have handled your illness with such dignity and positivity and as you say, three quality years to share with your family. Memories I know th...

Re: Our Journey without chemo

Welcome and thank you for sharing your story so far. It's clear that you have a wonderful relationship with your husband and you and your words are so heartfelt. Your 'chalk and cheese' experiences mirror the ones I had with my husband. Our palliative care team were excellent and I'll be eternally g...

Re: metal stent

Hi and welcome to the forum. My husband had a metal stent and thought it was blocked at one point, turned out not to be but I believe if it does become blocked it can be replaced, usually by the same method. My husband had his percutaneously ie through the skin. It's not uncommon for stents to becom...

Re: My Journey So Far

My money is on you getting your pension! Glad you enjoyed your holiday overall, that's what it's all about, getting out there and you certainly have some adventures, some more pleasurable than others clearly! Very good that you are now pain free and with all your treatment planned you can only go fo...

Re: Breathlessness

Hi Jim hope things have improved for your mum.

Once Ray was diagnosed with DVTs in both legs he had Clexane injections every day thereafter, given by me or district nurses.

Best wishes

Re: Confused

Yes Didge is correct. I think I'm right in saying that Laura's husband, Brian, had Gemcap, not Folfirinox and unsuccessful attempt at surgery?

Her first posts were 2010.

Re: Confused

Hi and welcome. So sorry to hear of your dad's diagnosis. It's hard for anyone to say how to handle any given situation as we're all so different and react to the things differently. It sounds to me like your parents are lovingly trying to protect you and it is really up to them to talk to you and t...

Re: Fatigue after Gemcitabine

Hi Kevin I hope you get some useful replies. I think how a person reacts to their chemotherapy is very personal. My husband was on Folfirinox and the fatigue was the worst side effect by a mile. He was pretty much exhausted the whole time he was ill. At the same time as he was receiving his treatmen...
