Re: Love of my life, has secondary cancer

Hi Martine,

I agree that Allen sounds like he is doing amazingly well. All very good signs.

I hope you are both getting the support you need, even if it feels not necessary at the moment.

This forum is a lovely friendly place to come to for support and to feel that you aren't so alone.

Re: Wish someone would help him

Hiya No, not at all. With Jonathan the chemo had stabilised the disease so the Onc didn't feel there was anything to be gained by him staying on it when he had had quite bad side effects the last 2 cycles. He came off it with a view to going onto something else when symptoms re emerged. He wasn't go...

Re: Wish someone would help him

Hi Leila I think there are different schools of thought about continuing chemo. It is a balance between continuing vs quality of life. I know with Jonathan the Oncologist told us that they didn't think there was anything to be gained at all by continuing. The last 2 cycles of folfironox that Jonatha...

Re: My 41 years old husband has inoperable pancreatic cancer

Hi Susanna, I'm just quickly catching up after my holiday too and will also email you privately soon but just wanted to say how fantastically well you are coping. I know how tough it is seeing your husband so poorly although I'm pleased you are getting some good support. I always found it helped to ...

Re: New website - help me out - where is

Hi I've just had a look now. The discussion forum is under a link to the right "How can we help you" and can also be reached at the bottom of the page. Steve and I are both on a group who have been looking at the website so we can make sure any comments get fed back. Hope you are all doing ok. Off t...

Re: Folfirinox - How long / frequency

Hi Steve

I remember last year Kate (KATB), Julia's daughter said that she was following someone on twitter who had had over 40 cycles of folfironox in the US. He was still doing well.. This would have been well over a year ago. I'll see if I can find that post.

Re: so upset about my mum

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your Mum and I know how painful it is to see someone you love in pain and so poorly. I wonder if you have discussed with your parents (or your Macmillan nurse has) the possibility of going into a hospice? This doesn't need to be a permanent thing, your Mum could go in, ge...

I'm so sorry to hear this Christine. I hope you are getting a lot of support at this awful time and the emotions you are feeling are very familiar to a number of us. If this is of any help, please remember you are not alone. My own partner also had an infection but in the end, whether it was the can...

Thanks everyone. That's really nice.

I'm now across the pond feeling a bit shattered. No wifi in the apartment so just catching up in a little cafe now.

Stay well everyone while I'm away

Cathy. Xxx
