Re: Newly Identified Tumours One Year on from Whipple

Hi Amanda I have just read your post and I am so very sorry to hear that David passed away. I'm not sure I can add any more to what the others have written so well but loved the story of your little girl and the jigsaw getting help from Daddy. Reflective I think of how well, and how bravely, you and...

Re: Wish someone would help him

Hi Leila, It is good your Dad is feeling a bit better pain wise but it would be good for both of you to get some more support really - your Dads comment to the DNs resonated with me Leila about him not needing them as he had you. I completely understand why you want to do that as well. We didn't hav...

Re: Travel insurance

Hi, My partner and I took two trips abroad (he was stage 4). The first time we winged it, like Steve as Jonathan hadn't been long off chemo. Our thinking was the same as Steve. I would advise against doing this if you are travelling outside the EU (take an EHIC card). Just check out what is availabl...

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Dearest Nikki I am so sorry tomhearbthat Paul has finally lost his fight. He did so well even though it sounds like he had some tough times to deal with. You were one of the people who started posting on here around the time that I did (and a few others did) and so, even after my Jnathan died, I hav...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Dear Fiona I was away on holiday when I found out that Jim had died. Like Lesley, although I didn't meet Jim on the day I was also part of the PCUK video and, those that I have shared it with since have been shocked and saddened by Jim's death. When you wrote of Jim dying there were a lot of similar...

Re: So far so good!

Sorry Steve, Not my neck of the woods but I always recommend travelodges. There are loads in London and one in Fulham which might not be too far for you. Do a search on the hospital's postcode is probably best, and search for any discount "voucher" on line before booking. Try money supermarket or vo...

Re: Pancreas pain

Hi Didge, I'm sorry to hear this. I'm afraid I can't offer any advice about the pain but it doesn't sound like the sort of pain that would be caused by needing to take creon but it could be an ulcer. Jonathan was on lanzoprazole for quite a while before his diagnosis which worked wonders for him (he...

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Hi Nikki

Fingers crossed things improve. It's pretty unrelentless at times and exhausting isn't it?

You will be in my thoughts

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Hi Nikki I'm sorry you have both been having a hard time and am crossing fingers that the procedure brings relief. I know how exhausting all this is so try get a bit of rest yourself where you can (not easy with children too I imagine). Here's hoping the fact Paul is starting to feel better brings o...

Re: Wish someone would help him

Hope your Dad sounded a bit better when you spoke to him Leila.

I wonder if tiredness is making him sound slurred.. You said he'd been up til 4.30am.

I hope things have improved today
