I was on BBC Radio Lancashire Thursday

I did a telephone interview at 8:15am *yawn* Thursday morning. By all accounts it came across quite well and I feel I got my point across, but there was so much more I could - and wanted - say. I'll post the link if anyone would like to listen. Just click on Listen Now. When the little screen comes ...

Anyone heard how Steve is doing?

I've seen a couple of pictures of him ....I think pre op....on Facebook and he looked so dapper in his surgery gown, hat and white stockings.

I hope he's okay, as I'm sure he will be.

Re: Very down and despondent.

Hi Emma, I feel just the same at the moment. It's almost like one step forward and two steps back. I am really struggling with pain in my back because the Celiac nerve is trapped and I'm waiting to have an injection to kill the nerve. I'm on stronger Morphine dosage which is playing havoc with my st...

Folfirinox or Capecitabine ?

Hi, I went to xx on Thursday and was told by their team that I may need some more Chemo treatment in a couple of months or so. It came out of the blue as my Oncologist who has treated me from the beginning and who actually knows me personally, not just read about me five minutes before in my notes, ...

Re: Such a horrible disease

Hi Julie, You are spot on with your title 'Such a horrible disease' and I am so sorry your dad is struggling especially with eating. At my lowest times I found that Complan was the only thing I could stomach. I avoided Chocolate, but other than that it has served me well and you can drink it slowly ...

Re: Date to meet the Oncologist.

Hi Emma and Hubby, It's always a little bit nerve racking Meeting your Oncologist for the first time. What will he be able to do for me, will he listen to what I want, will we get along together....etc. I couldn't even pronounce the name of my Oncologist, I still struggle now nearly one year down th...

One expensive mistake

I think I wrote about a holiday Steve (hubby) and I hoped to take for my 60th birthday which was supposed to be in New York, then out of the blue I was informed I had DVT, so had to cancel the trip of a lifetime. Fortunately, all but £7 we have received every penny back from the cancelled trip so .....

Re: Our hero lost the battle

I cannot understand how I missed reading your post Karen. It's going to be hard not hearing about Bob and what he was doing on any particular day, which nearly always made me laugh. I can only ditto what everyone else has written with good wishes to you and your family. I know on my dark days, I sta...

60-years-old on Sunday.....

I never thought I'd make it. Sat in my hospital bed December 4th 2012 having been told the news, 6cm inoperable tumour in your pancreas and literally......I kid you not, given until Christmas without treatment as the doctor on the ward said...quote: "You can have Chemo, if you think it's worth it!" ...

Re: Starting a long long journey

Hi David, Ditto really what everyone else says in their posts. I really do not know what I would have done without the support of (I call them friends, though we have never met face to face) so, friends on this PC website. Jeni and Dianne are an absolute God send.... Unfortunately, this disease hold...

Re: How late during or after a meal can you take Creon?

Hi Edwina, I have also had problems with bloating and diarrhoea through not taking enough Creon. The nurses on this website always say you cannot take too much Creon, as it simply passes through your body, so basically you can not over dose on Creon. I found it is better to take a high dose just bef...

Neuralgia

Is anyone else suffering back pain because of neuralgia I have been given some tablets for the pain called Pregabaline & Amitriptyline. This last one is only to be taken at night, so I did last night and this morning at 9 am I could not wake up. I finally came round at about 4 pm this evening. I hav...
