Re: tired

Hi Marie,
You are doing your mum proud and I'm so pleased to hear she is feeling a little better. It's a great idea for you to go home and have some well earned rest. You need to look after yourself too.
Take care xxx

Re: Information needed

I was referred 4 counselling and didn't find it very helpful. Perhaps cos I do a bit of cbt myself at work so I knew wot she was goin 2 say b4 she said it! Kept thinking well I wouldn't have said that! Ended up talkin bout her shoes. However 4 some it really helps. As everyone else has said don't fe...

Re: A Yabadabado Celebration!

Have lost a bit of my yabadabbers :-). Jaundice confirmed and will need stent at some point especially if havin more chemo. Surgery is not an option ( expected ) so only have the option of more chemo when required. They think that although the tumour has not grown in width it is obviously blocking t...

Re: Folfirinox started on Wednesday and other stuff

Sounds like you had a dreadful weekend Julia and Kate. This disease is like being on a damn rollercoaster! When bob had his admissions 2 hospital with pyre is they never got 2 the bottom of that either despite blood cultures. Maybe just one of those lovely things with chemo! Hope all is ok now Cathy...

Re: What about 2nd line?

Hi Kate - we were told last week that if folfirinox is not an option again then there would be gemcitabine and also trials available. It may just need you looking to a different hospital preferably a specialist one.

Re: Chemotherapy options

Oh Carole I am so saddened to hear your news. This damn disease is just so sneaky and cruel. Like Kate says don't give up on the idea of folfiranox as it does appear to be having some good results. It is very harsh though so best to make sure Clive is strong enough to tolerate it first. Do look into...

A Yabadabado Celebration!

Well today we went for Bob's MRI results and I'm delighted to say it was good news. Following 12 cycles of folfiranox the results are a significant reduction again in the pancreas with the liver mets now reduced from 14 to 2 small ones! No spread to any other organs, bones or lymph nodes. The oncolo...

Re: My Husband

Hi Franks wife, Your post brought tears to my eyes because you have just described exactly how I feel only I have not been able to tell anybody as I feel it's just dreadful and selfish of me to feel this way. I too can also feel myself distancing myself and I know it's because I'm frightened of the ...
