Nanoknife and stents

Does anyone know whether Nanoknife is able to be performed when a metal stent is in place? I'm sure I've read somewhere it is not compatible and need to be sure before Bob has insertion of stent this week in case we need to enquire whether we could have a plastic stent. Any information would be appr...

Re: My beautiful mum - a timeline

Dawn you certainly did your mum proud..... the love you felt for her is so obvious in your post and she must have appreciated and loved you very much.
Take care of your dad and remember to also look after yourself.

Re: Best day so far

Just seen your post June..... how right you were. Huge glass of wine as no one to share with, laptop and TV. Was fairly looking forward to watching what I wanted last night but my son appears to have morphed into his dad and we had to watch Match of the Day!!! As I speak Bob is now fast asleep on th...

Re: Trial at Weston Park

Hi Arlene,
I've heard of vandetanib if that's the same drug and think there's a trial going on at Sheffield using that and gemcitabine.
Its good that Keith has been selected and I agree you can only hope that he is given that and not placebo. Has Keith had chemotherapy before?

Re: Itch same or worse after stent - Why?!

Hmmm we will give the bicarbonate of soda a try sounds good. Ive just come up with the idea of giving him a rough flannel to rub his skin with instead of scratching. He looks like he's been in a cat fight! Wonder if you can buy adult scratch mits!! Sarah the spa day sounds just fantastic and I'm sur...

Re: Best day so far

Morning people........Bob doesn't need clexane June but I do know that like Steve says its best to find a flabby bit as less painful. Pleased to hear his temperature has come down and also good news Julia that Ray didn't need a stent. We are not much further forward I'm afraid although I have been a...

Re: Best day so far

I'm afraid he's in hospital at the moment June :-( Developed jaundice a few weeks ago so admitted to our local hospital for a stent. Local hospital as it should have been a simple procedure. However the stent was not inserted as Dr could see bleeding in the pancreas so he has now been stuck there fo...

Re: SYMPTOMS

Hi there and welcome to the forum 'family', It seems with this type of cancer that many have no symptoms and look well for a lengthy period of time but of course the tumour is still there. If you are offered surgery then I would think it would be for the best but obviously you have the added complic...

Re: Itch same or worse after stent - Why?!

Hi Sarah, My husband is currently in hospital waiting a stent and I think the worse thing for him has been the itching. He has now been prescribed Questran which comes in sachet form to add to water or juice. Supposed to be good. I think the symptoms may take time to resolve anyway but yes great new...

Re: Are these symptoms "normal"

Hi everyone, Not posted for a while as feeling a bit down but have been following your posts. Bob was also more or less pain free during chemo but since completing course has developed pain and jaundice. Has no energy. All odd to me when scan results less than a month ago were good. Admitted for ste...
