Re: General Advice / Support

Hi Susie Firstly, I am sorry that your mum has got PC. My mum had it and if you want to read my posts, you will probably find a fair amount of information on them, (some not pleasant reading). I must reiterate what Laura has said, everyone is different with pc, how they react with treatment, medicat...

Re: Update on my Dad

Hi Rachel Just seen your post, I'm sorry your Dad has had a set back. Oh how worrying for you all, and frustrating when the doctors obviously don't understand that the medication your Dad needs. Is there a specialist hospital/doctor in your area that knows more about PC and drug usage/effects than t...

Re: Jamie at home party

Hi Laura and Rachel Thanks for asking, I'm not too bad. Things have been very difficult and both myself and my son are having counselling. Which has been helpful, and made me understand why I have been doing/feeling the way I have. My son has really been affected and has shown a great deal of anger....

Jamie at home party

Hi everyone, Last night I held a Jamie at Home at my local cafe. It was a fantastic night, a complete success. 25 people attend, and I charged an entrance fee of £2, which included entry into the raffle. I then sold lots more raffle tickets at £2 each. I started off the evening by giving a short spe...

Re: Dads Scan

Hi Rachel

That sounds great news. I am very pleased for you and your family, hopefully you can take some time to have a normal family life, without the rounds of chemo and hosp apps etc.

Take care, chat soon.

coffee morning - final total

Hi, I held a coffee morning last week, it was an absolute success. I then sold the remainder cake at a toddler group on Friday, the kids sat in the front garden selling to passerbys, and I also sold in church on Sunday. We now have a grand total of £511.28. I cannot believe that people are so genero...

Re: Reluctance

Hi Karen Sorry to hear that you are suffering so much. If your doctor is like the GP my mum has, then unless you repeatedly go back and in the badger them, they seem to do nothing. Insist on a second opinion, insist on seeing a consultant specialist, put it blatantly that this is your life and you n...

Re: fundraising ideas

Hi everyone I have held a coffee morning today. I had over 50 people turn up, lots of yummy cakes donated and I have raised so far £434.84. I am so happy. I am going to the toddler group tomorrow to hopefully raise more money with the left over cakes. It's been a kind of bitter sweet day, a few tear...

Re: My world just fell apart

Hi Francis sorry your mum has been poorly, I think it could possibly be part and parcel of this disease, my mum suffered terribly with a bad tummy, she would take immodium, and these did help, although they do tire you out. You should definately have a point of contact from your oncologist team. You...

Hi, Firstly, I want to say how sorry I am to hear of your son-in-law's illness, such a young age. It is tragic. Secondly, yes, all pain should be able to be managed. The best management is to keep on top of it, so even if he is not in a massive amount of pain, keep the pain relief up, as the last th...

:P

I am so happy at the moment, I have just counted up the charity boxes from my table top sale and my continued selling of items on facebook, and even though money still has to come in later this week, I have raised so far..... £193.95.

Wooo hooo. Fantastic amount of money.

fundraising ideas

Hi everyone, I am going on a bit of a fundraising drive at the moment. In less than 2 weeks I am doing a coffee morning in my home, I have the local coffee shop donating coffee cups and their expresso machine for the morning, lots of lovely friends who make cakes professionally are baking for me, an...
