Re: wendy, and now my son , how differant

Oh Laura, I am so very sorry for the loss of your son. I would say you are in deep shock, tears will come eventually, but not being in contact with your son for so long and the shocking way that he's gone is going to leave you reeling. It is so very hard to understand what has gone through someone's...

Re: No bed available at hospital for gastric bypass!!!

Paul I am so very sorry to hear how poorly Andrea is, it is so difficult seeing someone you love in such a desparate position. I remember reading to mum and chatting to her as much as could, had been told that even though she may be asleep she could still hear me. Much love to you on this terrible j...

Ali, Thank you so much for posting to me, this really means so much. Christmas was... pants to be honest. It didn't help that I had hurt my back quite badly so was completely drugged up, and I monumentally mucked up the Christmas dinner, somehow managed to cook all the veg, and then it took 2 hours ...

Re: Is this normal ?

Hi Alice I am so very sorry to hear of your mum's diagnosis. The way she has been treated is really unacceptable. My mum was mucked about by the doctors and both her and my dad were of the opinion that if they complained they would be ignored. I have discovered, rather sadly, that if you do not ask,...

Re: New Year

Hi Deb I'm glad that you have found some peace, and have had the all important dream that you longed for. This Christmas has been such a strange time for me and my family. Christmas day was not that great, in one part I kept thinking back to last year when mum showed her defiance to the doctors and ...

this time of year...

Hi everyone, old friends and new, it's this time of year, that many of us dread. I cannot believe that it's almost a year since I lost my mum. I am taking one day at a time and not looking too far ahead at all. Next sunday is her anniversary, and I know I probably should go to church or do something...

Re: Christmas Tree Festival

Hi Laura and Jeni Thanks for your replies. Saturday went really well, it was a long day, got to the church at 9am, and my son and I set up the stall. We had a table with all the PCUK items and my lucky dip of Avon products, I then had another table next to it, selling lots of toys and children's ite...

Hi, I am so sorry to hear of your husbands diagnosis. This really is an awful sneaky cancer. I cannot imagine how you feel, if my husband was ill I don't know what I would do. I lost my mum in December last year, very sad and my dad is heartbroken. Use this forum as much as you can. Everyone is in t...

Christmas Tree Festival

Hi everyone, I wanted to share with you what I have been doing. My local church is holding a christmas tree festival, where 21 trees are being decorated for various groups and charities. In August I was asked if I would like to have a tree for Pancreatic Cancer UK. My mum absolutely loved Christmas ...

Re: My poor mum pushed from pillar to post

Dear Carolyn

I am truly sorry to hear about your mum, 5 weeks is no time at all to get your head around the fact that your mum is ill, let alone dealing with this awful blow.

You must feel numb.

Take care,

Re: FIRST MILESTONE- MY PARENTS WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Hi It is so difficult. I am in the run up to the first anniversary of mum passing. She went 30 December 2011. Within the first two months of mum going, we had my daughter's birthday and Mum's birthday. You are still feeling so raw, and the disbelief is absolultely normal, there are even times now, 1...
