Re: Spiritualist medium - believe or not?

Hello Lynbo, I'm with you on this one. I know there are sceptics out there and I think it's healthy to question these things. But just sometimes, when you are given information nobody else would know, without any prompting,I think it brings a little comfort. I have always believed in this ability, my...

Re: Welcome to this new forum on coping with loss

After I wrote on here yesterday I watched my messages from my hubby on my laptop,I cried my eyes out but, they were a comfort. Lynne,I too am an only child, and I've always been happy with my own company, but this is just lonley, even if I see friends they feel distant.I'm close to my mother-in-law ...

Re: Welcome to this new forum on coping with loss

Lynbo,I think you summed it up completely. Some days we cope, some days are truly difficult. Like you I feel lost, angry at life itself, and tired. I've been told this is all part of the grieving prosess, but there are times I feel it's getting harder with time, not easier. You've just confirmed for m...

Re: Welcome to this new forum on coping with loss

It's been three months since I lost my lovely husband to PC, and I honestly don't know how I have reached this point.I've read other posts of anniversaries and I guess everyone is different, with some similarities.I've already had my birthday and our wedding anniversary, and I've volunteered to work...

Re: THIS MORNING 12/10/11

I totally agree with lynbo, great to hear of PC and it's statistics being highlighted. But in my view not enough emphasis on early detection, and misdiagnosis by g.p's. I was dissapointed with Dr Chris's statement about heavy drinking, smoking, and being overweight and 60 plus, this gives people the im...

The passing of Steve Jobs

I feel increasingly frustrated by the media. They describe him as a C.E.O. of Apple, someone who was ahead of his time. I agree with all of that but, they also describe him as having 'died of Cancer', or 'after a long illness.' I want to scream from the hilltops, it was 'Pancreatic cancer' If there i...

Re: Stage 4 pc 3-6months to live

Hello Debbie, Have read your story also, how very unfair this disease is. My daughter is of similar age and I couldn't imagine the pain of losing her. I hope you spent the anniversary as you needed to. I feel cheated that my husband was only 51,but a common theme is that this cancer needs to be recog...

Re: Welcome to this new forum on coping with loss

Not sure if this is the right section to post this on, but I found this very moving.
A friend of mine wrote this in a card she sent me.
"When the sky is not so cloudy, and you start noticing the sunshine, then just you remember his smile, and then remember all the times you were the reason for it."

Re: Stage 4 pc 3-6months to live

Thank you everyone for all your comments. It really helps to vent feelings on a website where people know what your going through, or feeling. The days leading upto the funeral (on monday 1st aug)were busy. My son was absolutely brilliant, helping me with all the arrangements unfortunately he knew w...

Re: Stage 4 pc 3-6months to live

My husband collapsed and died early yesterday evening. The tumour was quite close to a main artery, so maybe something ruptured, don't know! I popped out to the shops, was gone for half an hour, came back to find him collapsed on the floor, called the paramedics, but it was already too late I am str...

Re: Stage 4 pc 3-6months to live

Thank you for everyone your kind thoughts and wishes. I was having a bit of a bad day the other day, crying quite a bit. You try to stay strong for so long then something goes wrong and suddenly everything is wrong. I went to collect his meds from the pharmacy, once again, they didn't have all of them...

Re: Stage 4 pc 3-6months to live

I am almost lost for words this morning. My hubby sleeps more than he is awake, even if he does get up for a couple of hours, he nods in the chair. I watch his breathing, to me it's irregular. He keeps appologising for his confusion when he asks what day it is or when did so and so visit, I just say...

Re: Stage 4 pc 3-6months to live

Thank you to both Nicki and Ellie,

Your replies have made me feel a bit more positive about his life span, it's such a difficult one to judge.
I find myself feeeling so angry at this disease, not just at cancer, but this particular cancer. The statistics are so low
