Re: bri's progress

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I have got such a lot from supporting others - feeling helpful after feeling so utterly helpless. I am sure others feel the same. The forum family is such a special thing - I know it really does make a massive difference to people going through the most diffic...

Re: bri's progress

Hi Laura - so lovely to hear from you and wonderful news that Bri is still keeping the enemy at bay! I am not too good at the moment. It is that awful time that many will relate to - the first anniversary of Gary's death. Vivid memories just keep coming back, which I don't seem to have any control o...

Re: My Father

So sorry to hear this Susan - I do hope that he is feeling better soon. I guess there is always a risk of complications after surgery but hopefully the hospital are doing lots of tests and sorting it all out. Do keep us posted won't you and we will keep everything crossed that he recovers and of cou...

Re: Update on my husband

Sue - what fantastic news! So glad your husband is doing well, albeit with some problems that you obviously have well in hand. Things seem to have progressed so much just in the couple of years since I first joined the forum and it really does give us all so much hope for the future. Good luck with ...

Re: My Father

Great news Susan - so glad all went well. Small steps now but I am sure he will recover well and hopefully feel a little bit more positive, especially with the surgery going well. So difficult for you, being so far away, you must feel so powerless and frustrated and I really feel for you. Keep posti...

Re: Hello from KATB

Hi Kate
So glad you are ready to be "upbeat" at the oncology meeting next week - I think we often let doctors take the lead and set the mood so, good on you, for being prepared to go in there with a pro-active and positive attitude! I am sure it will make a difference.
love

Re: My Husband

Good point, Steve - definitely a case of "no harm in trying". Does make you wonder why you have to ask though! Not sure what the answer to the snoring mystery is, Karen! My husband was always a red wine drinker, pre-diagnosis, which apparently does cause snoring, so I had assumed going tee-total had...

Re: Mum

Hello P - so lovely to hear from you but so sorry to hear how poorly your mum is. It is a difficult place to be - knowing what is happening, resigning yourself to it, wishing for it sometimes and wishing it was everything but that the next moment. I smiled to hear your mum walking to church - how co...

Re: my husband

Hi Juniper - welcome to the forum, just so sorry that you have to be here and for your husband's diagnosis. Great to hear that he is feeling brighter today - the dexamethasone (steroid) will be doing its magic and I imagine the jaundice will also be subsiding too - all good news for him feeling bett...

Re: My Father

Hello there - so sorry to hear about your father. I do hope his surgery goes OK today and he recovers well. I am sorry, but I do not have any direct experience of the whipples procedure but am sure that others, who have, will give you the information and help you need. It would also be worthwhile ri...
