Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

How are you doing Linda? You will remember the good times and you will get through this. Remember the first meeting, remember the first time he said I love you, remember the first time you cuddled in bed. Get those photos out. You have so many good good memories. Don't let PC beat you on this last t...

Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

Sweetie, I am early in this path and it is awful. I have no advice I can really offer you, even though I want to wave a wand and make it better for you. I never understood the word desperate before now. I hope you have people around you and the veterans that have posted here... you know what you mea...

Re: Thank you and our story... but we are not that far yet!

I really appreciate all of your replies. Again, I read them but did not have a chance to reply. I had a lovely response from the charities nurses via my personal e-mail that really was useful. Dad is still struggling with sickness and I am a little annoyed the trial doctors poo pooed our list of sup...

Re: Thank you and our story... but we are not that far yet!

Thanks Leila, I may try that with him tomorrow and he will defer much to me but can be stubborn as well. He is old school.. he doesn't want to make a fuss. He has already said if I had not gone mental over this he would have settled for the NHS and his fate. It may still be his fate... but it feels ...

Thank you and our story... but we are not that far yet!

Hi all, I wanted to take a little more time to say thank you for all of your help and advice on the treatment forum. Sorry I could not do it straight away but I have two children and one goes to school 30 miles away and wants constant lifts to see his girlfriend over that way as well, I have an 8 ye...

Re: White Blood Cell Count Low - advice for a newbie?

I will respond more - thank you all. However, I have no time now! What I did want to do quickly is post this link... http://sarahcannonresearch.co.uk/for-patients/open-clinical-trials/upcoming-studies/pancreas/ They are the research company and as I have said, it is fully funded and travel expenses ...

Re: White Blood Cell Count Low - advice for a newbie?

Hi All, Thank you for your responses I did read them but did not have a chance to respond. MSH, thank you for you information because I am a bit of a sponge on all of this at the moment - I am a true believer that knowledge is power. I am unsure whether it was for WBC or neutrophils but dad turned u...

White Blood Cell Count Low - advice for a newbie?

Hi My dad had his first round of chemo last week and went for a blood test today before his next chemo tomorrow. His level was 1.4 and they are saying they may either have to lower the dose, give him injections to increase the white blood cells or leave chemo for a week. Does anyone have experience ...

Re: Abraxine, Germcitabine + MM-141 trial - worried wrong ch

Thank you so much Leila, I really appreciate your kind words. It has been such a blow. My dad is sporty, never smoked, no alcohol - he doesn't even drink caffeine. It is a bitter pill for him to have been diagnosed with this. He kept himself healthy to make sure he would be around for my son. I thin...

Re: Abraxine, Germcitabine + MM-141 trial - worried wrong ch

Oh I am so sorry for your loss Didge, thank you for still taking the time to reply - I really appreciate it. MSH, I understood that the treatment my dad is getting in terms of chemo is a conventional treatment plus the potential for MM-141. We would never had gone for just MM-141 on its own. I under...

Thank you for your reply Didge, I really appreciate it. The whole thing is a minefield and overwhelming at times. I hope your partner is coping and not in pain. x

Abraxine, Germcitabine + MM-141 trial - worried wrong choice

Hi I am new to this forum. Sorry for the long ramble... I feel the need to ramble in the context of the question. My dad is 62 years old and was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer at the beginning of January 2016. At first they said it looked operable and so he went for more scans that culminated into...
