Re: Totally in awe of my wonderful Husband!

Hi PW, Good news about the MRI, I bet you were both relieved! Disappointing about the biopsy though. I didn't realise that could happen. Wishing you both well for the next round.

Hello again Guram, you are welcome. You will find a lot of advice and support on here as everyone is suffering from this dreadful disease in some way or another. Fifi is very experienced and she is right when she says it is very early in your grieving process. I imagine everyone is different and nee...

Re: Totally in awe of my wonderful Husband!

Hi PW, so sorry to read you are having such a difficult time and I know exactly how you feel. Everything is so hard isn't it? Coping with your own and your hubby's sorrow, sadness and grief, coping with the physical demands of caring for your hubby. I think crying is some sort of release and to keep...

Re: Bereavement cauncelling advice needed

Hello Guram, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband six weeks ago to PC after 8 months fighting. It is a horrendous disease and the entire fight left me emotionally and physically drained. Do you have friends and family around you? I am still struggling with the effects of the whole journey....

Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

Hi Catherine, I bet a family breakfast was better than coffee in a cafe - worth being stood up for! You sound so brave and strong. The very thought of meeting anyone I haven't already seen since Stew died, reduces me to tears. Your strength has made me think about visiting a good friend of mine tomo...

Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

Hello Sandra, thank you. So sorry to hear you lost your husband Trevor. 20 months is a long time to fight PC and its great you had those good 5 months in 2014, I bet you made some memories then. I never thought Stewart would die before me - don't know why. We were only married 5 1/2 years so I feel ...

Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

Hi Catherine, I felt I needed to visit the hospice, not quite sure why, other than to give the gifts and donations? Although it was very emotional it felt like the right thing to do. I do plan tasks for the next day otherwise I feel I have no purpose. Just routine, household stuff like yourself. I h...

Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

Hi Leila, PW and Dandygal thank you again for your kind words of comfort and support. I do want to talk about Stewart all the time but it is hard to say the words out loud. Maybe writing the whole thing from beginning to end will be easier. I went to the hospice this morning with Stewart's daughter ...

Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

Hi Leila, I will think again about writing our story. I say "ours" because (like you and your dad) I was with him every step of the way. We talked a lot about how he felt, how scared he was and how he did not want to die. He was only 64 and a very young, healthy 63 before diagnosis. He used to walk ...

Re: Finding it so hard to recall better times

Hello Leila, Proudwife, Didge and Catherine, thank you so much for your replies. I joined the forum last September and used the helpline a couple of times (phone and email) and I found the advice and support given invaluable. I did make a couple of posts but not many. During the time I have been a m...

Re: Life Expectancy and Attendance Allowance

Hello Marmalade, welcome to the place nobody wants to be. So sorry to hear of your husband's diagnosis. When my husband was diagnosed his GP completed the DS1500 and the MacMillan nurse completed the rest of the process. It was done quickly and efficiently. Hope you find lots of support here as and ...

Finding it so hard to recall better times

Hello everyone, my lovely husband Stewart died from PC five weeks ago today. He had been ill for eight months and it was horrendous. I am devastated. I am finding it so hard to remember the good 16 years we had together before he became ill. My mind just goes over and over the horrible times. I was ...
