Sue, it is heart breaking but your Mum did everything to stay with you and you have been a wonderful support to her. I know that you will have wonderful memories. Catherine

Sue, this is a hard time for you as you watch over your Mum. It's difficult, I know, but try to remain positive. Catherine.

Re: Mum's diagnosis

Sue, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It is also very draining emotionally caring for your Mother. My experience was that I found strength I didn't think I had. I'm sure you will be the same. Catherine

Re: Mum's diagnosis

Sue, please don't feel that your Mum is giving up. My husband Stephen's experience is very similar. He seemed to decline very quickly. However, I think he, and I feel it might be the same for your Mum,carried on doing things for himself even though he was very weak and then there came a point where ...

Re: Our Story

The hospice staff are brilliant and...

Re: Our Story

Just to bring you up to date, Stephen was transferred from the hospital he was in to the local hospice which in our case is based in the local hospital. He has seemed to settle in well. He didn't want his lunch but asked for some cheeses and biscuits which were nicely served and which he enjoyed. Hi...

Re: Our Story

Didge thanks for writing. We are a bit frustrated this end because we are in Scotland and it is still a holiday tomorrow with many of the hospital staff still off. Normally, having been told there is no more oncology can do the palliative team would be involved at once. However, on Thursday when we ...

Our Story

I have been following comments on this board since about May 2015 and have spoken to the excellent nurses a few times. I have found it very supportive to see come on here and I thought as Didge mentioned 'silent' members I would at last post as I probably need the support of people here. Or story be...
