Re: Reaching out

The nurses are just doing their job and don't really know how your dad before he was admitted, and if they are not concerned then take that as a positive. The nurses where good with us and we asked them what to expect when the end was near. U remember on the Monday mum asked one and said I don't thi...

Re: My Dads diagnosis

Hi Alison, you do have to be fit for the op, but if it's any help my dad had it and he only had 1 kidney and a damaged heart from a heart attack. All you can do is support your dad and sometimes go somewhere and scream! X

Re: My Dads diagnosis

I'm.afraid my dad passed away a year after his op, he was one of the unlucky ones, but he wanted to do everything he could to beat the cancer, However the difference was that even.when they started the op they where going to close him.back up as they couldn't find a tumour then.found one deeply buri...

Re: My Dads diagnosis

Whipples is a big op, but if that's an option then that's surely a positive as so many people don't have this option. My dad had it, but I would have also understood if he didn't have it as it's a big operation. He then had a 6 month course if chemo after.

Re: Brother with inoperable pancreatic cancer

Im pleased that he's in a hospice and that they can get him really comfortable and pain free, I always think.there's ideas of what hospices are like and I was devastating when the Dr said to consider it for my dad.But we heard so many positive things and how great and caring they are. I hope your vi...

Re: Mum's diagnosis

Sue, I'm sorry to hear of your mums decline, nil by mouth seems crazy, unless they are just wanting to monitor all fluids in and out. Will they let her such ice cubes.

Re: Tumour size

I don't have any experience of gasroparesis, but just wanted to say I can empathise, my dad was being sick daily, but his was not caused by that. Horrible to see your loved ones being sick and not being able to help.
